AGIDEAS Conference

Trends and Designers

During 3 days of amazing join agidears, I got lots of inspiration form those speakers. One designer that impress me is Ree Freweek from South Africa. Her animations are pretty good, the 3D technique used is advanced images look very exquisite, nice and fluent. All her works are showed some magic stores, the imagination is vividly, colourful, lively and inspirational. Certain can catch children's heart easily.

The Tale of How is one of her best film, a digital marvel of the handcrafted aesthetic. The visuals bring to life incredibly detailed and fantastic tapestries influenced by Bosch, Japanese Prints and Surrealists, via 3-D modeling and texture shading. Telling the story of an island of dodo-like birds terrorized by a malcontent octopus who relentlessly devours them, this work by the South African collective, The Blackheart Gang, is unabashedly fun and yet indescribably odd.

I am going to share links about her works

Concept Evalution

My favour design is the Playboy logo form Art Paul. He has had a career that can best be described as an adventure.
The rabbit symbol he designed was at first used as the endpoint for – to signal the end of – the magazine’s articles. He began moving the logo to the cover by the third issue, and put in on every one from then on. It became an important addition to the cover, integrated into each cover’s design in playful ways. As for the choice of a rabbit as our logo, we saw the rabbit as the ‘playboy’ of the animal world. The rabbit’s alert ears represented a playful energy and its bow tie suggested a tux – “living the good life.”

My Team Logo

FIRST ONE
When people talking about minotaur I thinking about strong, weight lifting. So I designed those logos for local weight lifting team in VICTORIA. I want to create a strong arm lifting a dumbbell, The dumbbell bended ,shows very heavy. We can see the bleed vessel on the arm appeared clearly, expressed him using too much strength. About the name, I combine "VIC" for Victoria and "taur" for bull in Italian, so it calls "Victaur".

SECOND ONE
Straight lines can demonstrate taught, power and modern. So I using very straight lines to show how taught the bull is, straight line can also express the muscles very well.

THIRD ONE
This logo is for foot ball team, "VICTAUR" is the team's name, this logo combine letter "V",letter "M" and corners together,  "V" stand for Victoria, "M" stand for Minotaur, the shape is also like an Japanese sammurai's helmet. expresses this team has bull's taught and summurai's cruel. want to cash every opponent block them.

Step 1: Native Ameican Motifs

Team name: Club de Futbol Indios de Ciudad Juarez

Location: Ciudad Juarez

History: Most of the players belonged to Pachuca as reserves from the first team or are younger talent. It was promoted after three seasons to the Primera División de México (First Division) after the 2007–2008 season .

About the logo:
The red scarf on the soccer ball image is definitely the bright spot, which makes the logo stands out. The "Club De Futbol"on the tope looks like the hire of ball.Generlly, I like the Logo, the image looks like a tough guy - Join Rambo .but I think the problem is on the text, the "INDIOS"  looks so nomal ,and the "Club De Futbol" just looks so urgly.

Talking Stick: The Real Life Of Today's Mayans
Cultures of the world had benifit form the development of the Mayan pictograms  not only benefit the Mayan culture. Mayans have been forgotten, there are losing by the world, They don't know how to read how to use English and Spanish, there can't even afford the "normal" things we have, computer, telephone, digital communication is too far away form them. even books they don't have. Those that are living in poverty who don't have access to proper education would be only able to understand simple instructions that they need to survive. I think it would be a better world with no alphabetical words—where icons were the only language. This would help bridge the gap between illiteracy and emotional comprehension of a message.

Step 2: Aboriginial Motifs

Function and Philosophies
Principles and Protocols
1. Respect
2. Indigenous control
3. Communication, consultation and consent
4. Interpretation, integrity and authenticity
5. Secrecy and confidentiality
6. Attribution and copyright
7. Proper returns and royalties
8. Continuing cultures
9. Recognition and protection.
Respect
Indigenous people have the right to manage and own their traditions comprising of art and cultural expressions. They should to be respected.
Protocols and customs vary across indigenous communities. Respecting the cultural heritage of Indigenous Australians includes
Acknowledgement of country
The original inhabitants of Australia are the Torres Strait people and Aboriginal people. They have a strong connection to the land and totality of life and spirits of certain areas them and their ancestors have inhabit ted.
When an event is held in the community being an exhibition, installation or an event of significance it is an act of consideration to invite a representative of the traditional landowners and give a welcome to the country speech
Recognition and protection
The Indigenous Australians visual artists own copyright in his or her artwork. This means that he or she can control the reproduction and termination of the artwork. Such rights apply to all artists and are granted under the national copyright law. This protects any interpretation or alterations to traditional or recent indigenous artwork. Respect also goes hand in hand with understanding boundaries and rights.
Moral Rights and Issues

The Moral Rights Amendments to the copyright were introduced in December 2000 and provide some new ways to challenge inappropriate treatment of Indigenous artworks.

Artists has moral rights of integrity and attribution to their artwork. The moral right of integrity means that the artist can take action against inappropriate treatment of their artwork. Under the moral rights provisions of the Copyright Act, the right against false attribution when reproducing the artwork. It is a good idea for artists to check design proofs of their work carefully before reproducing and publishing them

Clash of titans

1) Who are the Titans?

In Greek mythology, Titans were a race of powerful immortals, descendants of Gaia and Uranus,
that ruled during the legendary Golden Age. In the first generation of twelve Titans,

by a race of younger gods, the Olympians, in the Titanomachy ("War of the Titans").
This represented a mythological paradigm shift that the Greeks may have borrowed
 from the Ancient Near East.

Title: MCG ‘Melbourne Cricket Ground’

Artist: Richard Henderson

Date of design: Sat 3rd December 2005

Medium: Digital Media, computer generated design.

Positive Space has been used in this Logo,Lines and shapes are using very well . It kind of feeling modern when I frist saw it.These stroked lines also create rhythm and movement within the design. The lines are composed diagonally and randomly around the shape so that it almost appears to be moving amongst the shape. I think the main concept of designer is modern and dynamic, the curly lines express dynamic, the typeface express modern.
